Road Conditions and Road Closures due to Adverse Weather

Thursday 21st April 2013 - 11:00hrs.

The strong winds of mid April has meant some 60 roads particularly minor roads in the Laich of Moray are affected by blown sand deposits.

On these roads affected by accumulations of blown sand over their surface and/or restricting their width, motorists should take care particularly in the dark. Work will continue on dealing with blown sand for many weeks with priority given to higher classification roads and locations where sand deposits are deepest. Until crops become established or soil moisture increases the risk of further incidents of blowing sand remains high in lowland Moray.

No current emergency road closures
